E.NEXT has patented its outdoor LED lighting brightness control system
08.07.2026E.NEXT has been granted Ukrainian utility model patent No. 163275 for «A system for controlling the brightness of LED street lighting». This confirms the development’s status as an in-house engineering solution and marks another step forward in the Company’s development.
Modern LED luminaires are energy-efficient in their own right, but their full energy-saving potential is only realised when it is possible to control their brightness flexibly — reducing the luminous flux during night-time hours with low traffic and returning it to maximum levels during peak periods.
This usually requires a separate wired or wireless control channel, which entails additional costs for materials, installation and ongoing maintenance.
The patented E.NEXT system transmits the control signal through the existing power lines, eliminating the need to install a separate control line. The solution consists of two components:
- a controller that generates a control signal and transmits it via the power supply network;
- a signal receiver, which is installed directly in the luminaire and regulates its brightness level.
The system provides 15 brightness levels and can be integrated into automated outdoor lighting management systems, potentially reducing electricity costs by up to 50%.
Key benefits for projects:
- Simplified installation — no separate control line is required; the existing power supply network is used.
- Lower implementation costs — savings on cabling and installation work.
- Flexibility in operation — brightness levels can be adjusted to suit the timetable, season or traffic intensity.
- Readiness for automation — support for the Modbus protocol allows the system to be integrated into comprehensive ‘smart city’ solutions.
The new patent is another step in expanding E.NEXT's portfolio of in-house developments. The company's team continues to develop solutions that help partners implement modern and efficient outdoor and industrial lighting projects.
Everything will be E.NEXT
